Logo
For the monogram, my client wanted the brand's initials "MR" fused within a diamond shape. The challenge was achieving this without excessive negative space and disproportionate type.

Inspired by the adidas logo, where stripes fit diagonally into a triangular shape, I envisioned evenly spaced diagonal stripes within the diamond. These stripes I then developed into type by Combining sharp triangular points on the vertices creating a clean and balanced negative space across the monogram to form skewed logotype that tessellates seamlessly within the diamond shape.

My client also mentioned She desired a luxury and on-trend feel for the brand. Taking this into account the logotype draws inspiration from sans-serif fonts, which are currently used by top fashion powerhouses like Burberry, Gucci and Saint Laurent to achieve a modern and clean aesthetic.

Logo Grid

To create the final monogram, I started by opening a final sketched draft of the logo in Adobe Illustrator. I then traced half of the diamond shape to create a symmetrical diamond shape by flipping it. With the base diamond shape established, I evenly spaced four diagonal stripes across it. Next, I worked on forming the letters, ensuring they followed the same four angles without breaking the boundaries of the diamond.
